Sarah Low DVM

  • Equine Welfare Services

This service is geared toward equine businesses, clinics, institutions, boarding/training facilities, rescues, sanctuaries and non-profits. Dr. Low uses animal outcomes welfare assessments as well as reviews of records, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and facility design/layout to identify welfare problems and develop solutions. Services include the design of SOPs for the care and handling of domestic and feral horses that support a continuous improvement management model tailored to the specific needs of the client.

  • Equine Behavior Modification

Using applied behavioral science and practical learning theory, Dr. Low evaluates and rehabilitates horses with aversions to routine healthcare and husbandry procedures. Dr. Low employs positive handling and training methods to increase compliance, tolerance and relaxation during healthcare and husbandry procedures for both horses and their owners/handlers. Aversions to needles, oral/eye medications, hoof/leg handling and trailer loading are just some of the problems Dr. Low can address.
