In-home Pet Euthanasia

When it is time to say good-bye to your beloved animal companion, you can make the experience as stress free and peaceful for them as possible by eliminating that last trip to the vet office. A home euthanasia with one of our licensed veterinarians allows you to personalize your pet’s last moments with you based on the uniqueness of your relationship. Including personal preferences and likes and dislikes of your pet will ensure the most positive experience possible for all those present. Yonder Care can provide same day and after hours services in many cases, however typically we prefer 24-48 hours notice. Prices within regular service area: $275 for in-home euthanasia appointment during business hours and $325 for after hours when available. Service outside regular service area is usually possible for an additional travel fee depending on distance and time for travel.

Phone Consultations

Unsure if it is time to say good-bye? Wondering if you have done what you can for your beloved pet companion? Want to talk to veterinarian about your options for end of life care? Dr. Low is available for guided quality of life assessments and questions about your regular veterinarian’s diagnoses, what to expect as the disease progresses and end of life care options available. Phone consultations are $50 for 30 minutes and can often be scheduled for same day service as scheduling permits.

Disclaimer: Dr. Low cannot diagnose, treat, or prevent disease, illness, or pain during a phone consultation. That is the job of your primary veterinary care provider. The purpose of a phone consultation is general guidance for concerned pet parents.

In-home Hospice Care

When your pet’s health is a lot to manage and the end is coming, you can arrange for in-home hospice visits. We can help with in-home treatments such as subcutaneous fluids administration, injectable medications, acupuncture for pain relief and quality of life assessments to take some of the pressure off you as your pet’s primary care giver. We can work with your pet’s primary care provider to ensure continuity of care and proper management of your pet’s condition. We want you and your pet to focus on enjoying the time you have left together. An in-home quality of life assessment and hospice consultation is $90 for a 1 hour visit. This includes a medical records review and physical exam. This service is limited to Blacksburg and Christiansburg locations.

After your pet has passed, Yonder Care offers cremation services or we can help you make a decision about home burial. Private cremation with your pet’s ashes returned to you is an additional $270. Cremation only, without ashes returned to you, is $85.
